SHELLY COTTER

Shelly Cotter is the Principal and Lead Designer of Shelly Cotter Designs, a Dallas-based interior design firm known for creating warm, modern spaces that feel elevated yet deeply personal. With a degree in Interior Design from Texas Tech University and over 15 years of experience working with industry icons Knoll and Herman Miller, Shelly developed a strong foundation in timeless design principles, functional planning, and thoughtful materiality. Her early career focused on commercial interiors for Fortune 500 clients, where she partnered with leading architecture and design firms to create workspaces that were both beautiful and strategic — designed to inspire, support productivity, and attract top talent.

Today, Shelly brings that same level of intention to her residential work, blending clean lines, layered textures, and curated pieces to craft spaces that feel effortless and lived-in. Her approach is rooted in connection — helping clients create homes that reflect their lives, support how they live, and ultimately help them love where they live.

Designer

Olivia Mayer

A Louisville native and graduate of Auburn University’s top-ranked Interior Design program, Olivia is a Designer at Shelly Cotter Designs. She brings a strong foundation in space planning and a passion for mixing textures and lighting to create warm, layered interiors. With internship experience in Santa Rosa Beach, Dallas, and Louisville, Olivia pairs design expertise with real-world insight. Outside of work, she enjoys walking the Katy Trail with friends and working on E-Closet, a clothing rental app she co-founded in college.

Madison Clark

Madison is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her degree in Architectural Studies. As a Designer at Shelly Cotter Designs, she brings a love for thoughtful, livable spaces and a strong eye for the details that make a house feel like home. Madison is excited to contribute to residential projects that blend beauty, function, and personal style. When she’s not designing, you can find her arranging fresh flowers or spending time with her two pups.

Shelly is the proud mother of three beautiful daughters, Avery, Kyle and Paige. Shelly and her husband, Chuck, love traveling the world, discovering new hidden jewels in Dallas, going to art shows and share a love of great design. Shaped and inspired as a designer through her years at KNOLL and Herman Miller, the modern classics have been imprinted on Shelly’s heart and brain, and the philosophies of “good design” and “timeless classic design” are values she takes into each project!
