Interior design internship

Job Description:

Shelly Cotter Designs is seeking an interior design intern to join Shelly Cotter. As an interior design intern, you will work hand in hand with the owner on all projects and in all phases of design in Dallas, TX. We are looking for an intern who is eager and passionate about learning, collaboration, and innovation. The successful applicant will gain experience in design documentation, construction administration, design selection, and various aspects of the design process.

 

* This internship is unpaid and is available to those seeking class credit.

Qualifications:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Interior Design

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and CAD

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner

  • Ability to strongly communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills

  • Basic textile knowledge and good color sense

Responsibilities:

  • Work within CAD to produce design documentation

  • Attend company meetings and field visits 

  • Prepare and revise interior design drawings

  • Order samples and update library with new materials

  • Research items for projects

  • Communicate with material vendors

  • Create client presentations

  • Assist in capturing social media content (Photos & videos)
